Miguel, thanks for the mention. You make a great point about the integration of these steps into a college recruitment strategy. As part of a Latino club in college, we were extremely successful in using traditional elements of the Latino culture to spark interest in events that helped raise funds for scholarships. Once we recognize the importance of these cultural variables, the possibilities are plentiful.

Relevancy may be the holy grail when it comes to your market. If you find yourself not in sync w/ your arena, then get out and get into another that you ARE relevant.

Funny. Yes, I guess I was but more so the companies that took the chance to provide this service. Unfortunately, the company we used at the career center at UT El Paso folded only months after we installed what seemed like miles/miles of cable into our interview rooms. I did have enough time to conduct a few studies with eye contact and visual gaze. Glad to see that it’s coming back.

Thanks for the post! LOHAS and the Hispanic communities are very much in line. In fact Hispanics are leading much of the cutting edge elements such as social media and community building that LOHAS embodies. To get the younger generations actively involved in education and promoting the opportunities that are in front of them means the possibilities are endless.
