Thanks for the comment and feedback. I’m glad you “got” my post. It’s far too easy to “invest” in a community that’s growing as fast the Latino has over the last two decades. I think Latinos recognize a genuine interest in developing our community and just not making inroads to hit the bottom line. I did review your presentation at the NCLR Conference – good work! I agree with this entry. I was a panelist at the NCLR Conference speaking about the 5 step strategic process to use social media to a group of students. The one thing I always tell students is that it’s very important to be literate on a subject before doing anything. Today it seems like everyone wants to make money off the Latino community because it’s growing, but some people don’t understand everyone’s needs because the Latino community is so diverse. Jose- Thanks for the comment. Not doubt disappointing but not surprising. I’ve always noted that Latinos are making progress but still have much work to do on all fronts.

Indeed Claudia. When you get into the “guts” of the report, you see that much of Latino wealth was caught up in the housing market – tradtionally a safe investment until a few years ago. We have much work to do! ; )

You can’t make the lazy work. We (Latinos) immigrate to provide for our families and we work hard. Is that so bad? Kick us out but lose out is my take on that nonsense.
