It’s been a long few months with the move to Madison and tons of other projects and classes. Off to vacation in our “home away from home” for the next week or so.

She was also concerned because Isaac’s counselor had declined to write a letter of recommendation – because he wasn’t in the top 10 percent of his class — for his ABC application. But instead of being welcomed, Florencia says the school principal and counselor were dismissive during a school visit last September.

Over the last 18 months of writing HTM, I’ve taken small breaks from time-to-time to focus on other commitments. As I get back into my blogging “routine,” I find that these “breaks” have a very positive impact – not only in recharging my batteries but also in renewing my commitment to what this blog is all about. 

I’m glad to be back online. I’ve got a few things that I’ll be working on through the end of the year including finishing up a piece of research that’s been sitting in my PC for too long and re-launching my AdMentis website.

We often spend too much time talking about cultural trends as if we’re awaiting for something that hasn’t arrived yet. Today it struck me. One day it happens. Demographic “trends” become demographic realities.

Understanding Latino culture is not easy. However, making the effort to understand it can have vast rewards for the organizations that are still searching to create a diverse and innovative workforce.
